The Z in my opinion blew the SX90R and the Mark VI away. The Z is on top for resonance and projection. It actually sounds like an amplified horn. I recently purchased a Buescher Aristocrat tenor sax for my 14yr old daughter. She wanted an older sax but not too old because of price for one and also, from what we’ve read, the finger action on older ones seem to be harder (or at least different) for someone her age. The mute has lot of space inside, so your hands have room and it's easy to play all notes even palm and side keys. Space allow for more easy playing of bell low notes too. The mute looks nice with a cool shape, it's classy. So as a kind of teaser I have uploaded a couple of photo's of a mystery baritone sax for you to guess its maker and year of production. A few observations. First of all there are different styles of music and concepts of a saxophone sound. The "best" embouchure for a jazz or rock musician may not be the same as the "best" embouchure for a musician who plays classical saxophone. In my experience, the Mark III is the most powerful and clearest of all FG models. Very direct sound. I prefer something a little more complex, so I favor the Mark IV over the Mark III. And I prefer something slightly darker, so I prefer the Mark II over the Mark IV.The T55 Java is more tightly wrapped sound wise with a lot of focus. Big excellent for a wide variety of playing situations, however I prefer (and am looking for) and great STM with a lot of 'zing' to the sound. I play a YTS-23 (and a 10M) and have both the T6 and T55 and prefer the T6 just slightly more..
